2.\nADOPT RESOLUTION NO. R2M26-7 ENTITLED A RESOLUTION OF THE ALHAMBRA\nCITY COUNCIL REGARDING CITY RESPONSE TO FEDERAL CIVIL IMMIGRATION\nACTIVITIES – F2M26-7, R2M26-7\nOn February 9, 2026, the City Council requested looking into the creation of Immigration\nFree Zones within the City of Alhambra, including reviewing the Resolution from Los\nAngeles County regarding Immigration Free Zones and the potential use of related\nsignage. In addition, because the City has previously adopted and reaffirmed resolutions\nregarding immigration enforcement and compliance with SB 54, the City Council\nrequested the establishment of a Subcommittee of two Councilmembers to review existing\npolicies, assess how those objectives and standards are being implemented, determine\nwhether any changes or recommendations are warranted, and engage members of the\ncommunity for their input. A resolution is intended to reaffirm Alhambra’s commitment to\nthe safety and well-being of all residents and visitors by recognizing that enforcement of\nFederal immigration law is the responsibility of the Federal government and not a function\nof local government. In particular, the resolution protects the authority over, and use of\nCity facilities for municipal and community services.\nRecommended Action:\nCity Council consider adoption of Resolution No. R2M26-7\nentitled: A Resolution of the Alhambra City Council Regarding City Response to Federal\nCivil Immigration Activities, or provide direction as deemed appropriate.
