15.\nAWARD CONTRACT: FY 2024-25 SR-710 LATIP/SB1 STREET REHABILITATION\nPROJECT – F2M24-45, N2M26-5, C2M26-20, M2M26-55\nThe FY 2024-25 SR710 LATIP SB1 Street Rehabilitation Project is located in the\nsouthwest area of the City. The project consists of Ross Avenue, Midwick Drive, Parkview\nDrive, Orange Grove Avenue, Alta Vista Drive and Hellman Avenue. In total, there are\nnine (9) street segments included in this project. The City Council authorized the Notice\nInviting Bids for the Project on January 12, 2026. On Thursday, March 5, 2026, the City\nClerk received 6 bids ranging from $1,329,995.50 (Calmex Engineering) to $ 1,648,790.00\n(Palp, Inc. DBA Excel Paving). In addition to the base bid amount, Calmex Engineering,\nInc. submitted $505,523.50 in the Alternative Bid Schedule for Grand View Drive from\nValley Boulevard to Alta Vista Drive. Staff reviewed the bids and found the bid received\nfrom Calmex Engineering, Inc. in the amount of $1,835,519.00 as the lowest responsible\nbid. Calmex Engineering, Inc. has the necessary licenses to complete the work and has\nconducted similar scale projects in surrounding cities.\nRecommended Action:\nCity Council award a contract, subject to final language\napproval by the City Manager and City Attorney, to Calmex Engineering, Inc. in the amount\nof $1,835,519.00 for the FY 2024-25 SR710 LATIP SB1 Street Rehabilitation Project;\nappropriate funds, revenue and expenditure, in the amount of $221,000.00 from the\nrestricted LATIP funds to complete the project; and, direct staff to undertake the steps\nnecessary to finalize Council’s action.
