6.\nAUTHORIZE RFP: PURCHASE OF CARBON MEDIA FOR THE GROUND WATER\nTREATMENT PLANT – F2M26-6B, RFP2M26-3\nThe City’s Ground Water Treatment Plant has fourteen granular activated carbon filters,\nwith each filter containing 20,000 pounds of granular activated carbon designed to remove\nVolatile Organic Compounds (VOCs). As part of the treatment process, the filter media\nmust be replaced and/or regenerated once it is exhausted. Specifications have been\nprepared for this process. Staff has reviewed and approved these specifications, which\nare available for review in addition to the Request for Proposals (RFP) and RFP\ninstructions. The RFP is for a three-year contract for the purchase of Carbon Media for the\nGround Water Treatment Plant.\nRecommended Action:\nCity Council authorize the distribution of a Request for\nProposals for the purchase of Carbon Media for the Ground Water Treatment Plant with\nproposals due no later than 11:00 a.m. on April 23, 2026; and, direct staff to undertake\nthe steps necessary to finalize the City Council’s action.
