7.\nAWARD OF CONTRACT: PURCHASE OF ONE NEW CNG VACTOR IMPACT COMBO\nSEWER CLEANER – F2M26-6A, C2M26-18, M2M26-48\nThe current unit, Vehicle 681, is over 18 years old and has developed various ongoing\nmechanical issues due to age and heavy operational use. This vehicle plays a critical role\nin the City’s sewer maintenance operations, supporting the upkeep of more than 128 miles\nof sewer lines that must be regularly cleaned and maintained to ensure proper system\nfunction. Due to the essential nature of these services and the increasing maintenance\ndemands associated with the vehicle’s age, replacement of the unit is necessary to ensure\ncontinued reliability and the City’s ability to effectively maintain the wastewater and storm\ndrain infrastructure. Staff seeks to acquire the new vehicle through a Cooperative\nPurchase Agreement. Cooperative purchase is allowable per Alhambra Municipal Code\n3.36.080(B)(3). On October 12, 2021, Sourcewell opened bids for the procurement of\nwater jetters and Combination Sewer Cleaners, along with related equipment,\naccessories, and services. In December 2021, Sourcewell awarded contract #101221-\nVTR to Vactor Manufacturing. This agreement is set to remain in effect until November\n29, 2029.\nRecommended Action:\nCity Council award a contract, subject to final language\napproval by the City Manager and City Attorney, to Haaker Equipment for the purchase of\none Vactor Impact Combo Sewer Cleaner in the amount of $596,829.29; and, direct staff\nto undertake the steps necessary to finalize the Council’s action.
