10.\nAPPROVAL OF A CONTRACT AMENDMENT WITH TOTAL ENVIRONMENTAL\nMANAGEMENT, INC. FOR A TEMPORARY COOLING UNIT – F2M25-6B, C2M25-9,\nM2M26-51\nOn March 24, 2025, the City Council authorized an agreement with Total Environmental\nManagement, Inc. (TEM) for a temporary cooling unit at Alhambra Police Department for\ntwelve months commencing April 26, 2025 due to a chiller failure resulting in no cooling in\nthe building. A study was conducted by a consultant contracted to design a new Heating,\nVentilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system for the building. The design is near\ncompletion and a Notice Inviting Bids will be issued for the construction. The installation\nof the new HVAC system will not be ready, however, by the end date of TEM’s one year\nagreement. Therefore, an extension is necessary until construction is completed. Staff is\nrequesting the City Council approve extending the agreement with TEM for another 12\nmonths, for a not to exceed amount of $147,600.00.\nRecommended Action:\nCity Council approve a contract amendment, subject to final\nlanguage approval by the City Manager and City Attorney, with Total Environmental\nManagement, Inc. to continue to provide a temporary cooling unit at Alhambra Police\nDepartment for twelve months at a cost not to exceed $12,300 per month, or $147,600;\nand, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize the Council’s action.
