6. CONSIDERATION AND APPROVAL TO AWARD A CONSTRUCTION\nCONTRACT FOR CIP 2018-11 ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM CYCLE\nIV PROJECT NO. ATPL-5150(014)\nRECOMMENDED THAT CITY COUNCIL:\n1. Award the contract to Palp Inc. DBA Excel Paving for the construction of CIP\n2018-11 Active Transportation Program Cycle IV Project No. ATPL-5150(014) as\nthe lowest responsive, responsible bidder for a not to exceed fee of $4,238,633;\n2. Approve a 5% construction contingency in the amount of $211,932;\n3. Appropriate $4,111,849 to Account No. 202-8080-431.76-20 (State of California\nDepartment of Transportation reimbursable expense) and $338,716 to Account\nNo. 210-8080-431.76-20 (Metro Measure M funds); and\n4. Authorize the City Manager to execute the construction contract agreement and\nall change orders in good faith.
