E.4. SEMI-ANNUAL MANDATORY SEISMIC RETROFIT PROGRAM\nUPDATE [N. MARICICH, J. ALKIRE, B. GALAN, C. ZABALA]:\nSUBJECT: The City Council will receive an update on West\nHollywood's mandatory seismic retrofit program and seismic\ngrant\nprogram\nand\nprovide\nstaff\ndirection\nregarding\nreimbursements on active seismic grant applications.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Receive Seismic Program update; and\n2) Provide direction to staff regarding six (6) applications\ncurrently pending FEMA review with one of the following\noptions: A. Direct staff to notify applicants that grant funding is\nnot guaranteed prior to the October 9, 2026, program closeout\ndeadline and that, due to federal review delays, there is a risk\nthat reimbursement may not be received. Applicants may elect\nto proceed at their own risk; or B. Direct staff to notify\napplicants that, should FEMA approval not be received in\nsufficient time to complete construction prior to the October 9,\n2026, program closeout deadline, the City will honor anticipated\ngrant awards using City funds not to exceed a total of $90,000.\nSTAFF REPORT
