20. AWARD CONTRACT: PURCHASE OF A HIGH-FREQUENCY RADIO UNIT – F2M23-\n6B, C2M23-21, M2M23-61\nThe Fire Department applied for grant funding in the amount of $60,000 from the California\nGovernor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) under the High Frequency\nCommunications Program to purchase a high-frequency radio unit, including installation,\ntraining and unlimited access to the dedicated FCC frequencies to support emergency\ncommunications. The Fire Department was notified by Cal OES that the request had been\napproved for the radio unit purchase. NVIS Communications, LLC is the preselected\nvendor under the Cal OES grant for the purchase of equipment. The purchase is allowable\nper Alhambra Municipal Code §3.36.080(E). The grant performance period for the project\nis April 1, 2022 to October 31, 2023.\nRecommended Action: City Council award a contract, subject to final language\napproval by the City Manager and City Attorney, to NVIS Communications, LLC for the\npurchase of a high-frequency radio unit and training in an amount not to exceed $60,000;\nand, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize Council’s action.
