21. AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT STATION 71 WOMEN’S\nLOCKER/BATHROOM REMODEL PROJECT AND APPROPRIATION OF\nEXPENDITURES – F2M23-23, N2M23-15, C2M23-23, M2M23-64\nOn February 13, 2023, the City Council approved a Notice Inviting Bids for the Fire\nDepartment’s Station 71 Women’s Locker/Bathroom Remodel Project. On March 16,\n2023, the City Clerk received four bids for this project, which ranged from $83,224.00 to\n$432,500.00. On March 29, 2023, the lowest bidder company informed the City they were\nwithdrawing their bid. Staff reviewed the remaining bids and found the bid from Dynasty\nBuilders, Inc. to be the next lowest responsive bid. Dynasty Builders, Inc. has the\nnecessary licenses to complete the project; worked on previous projects in Alhambra; and,\nhad favorable reference checks.\nRecommended Action: City Council 1) Award a contract, subject to final language\napproval by the City Manager and City Attorney, to Dynasty Builders, Inc. in the amount\nof $171,633.25 for the Alhambra Fire Department Station 71 Women’s Locker/Bathroom\nRemodel Project; determine the project is exempt from CEQA pursuant to CEQA\nguidelines section 15301; direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize the\nCouncil’s action; and, 2.) Approve an additional appropriation from the Capital Outlay Fund\n10\n4-24-23\nin the amount of $71,633.25 under expenditure Account No. 310.30.3010.92137. The\nremaining balance of $100,000.00 for this project is funded from the American Rescue\nPlan Act Fund. (M2M23-64)
