A. Authorization to Accept Grant from the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services FY25 Safer\nOutcomes: Enhancing De-Escalation and Crisis Response Training Grant Program\nRecommended Action\nStaff recommends that the City Council:\n1. Adopt a finding of no possibility of significant effect pursuant to Section 15061(b)(3)\n(Common Sense Exemption) of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)\nGuidelines;\n2. Authorize the City Manager to accept a grant award in the amount of $486,760 from the\n2025 Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (“COPS”) for Department of Justice\nprojects in the Police Department and to accept all grant renewals;\n3. Authorize the City Manager to execute all necessary documents to accept the grant and\nall subsequent grant modifications; and\n4. Authorize budget changes as outlined in the Financial Impacts & Budget Actions section\nof this report (requires 5 votes).\nStaff Report Printout
