NOTICE INVITING BIDS: FRONT STREET WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT AND ZONE\nCHANGE - PHASE 1 – F2M19-20, N2M23-45\nCurrently, Mission Road is the dividing line between the South Zone and North Zone - the\ntwo major pressure zones in the City. The break in pressure zones exists because of the\ntopography of the City. With the pressure zone break at its current location, residents along\nFront Street experience low water pressure. Hydraulic testing conducted in the area of\nFront Street between Marengo and Atlantic have shown that moving the zone break south\nto Shorb Street and replacing the existing four-inch cast iron water mains in this area\nwould significantly increase the water pressure and fire flow capability in the area. The\nproject involves construction in three phases, sequentially over the next three years with\none section of the project occurring each year. This project is Phase 1 which will be on\nFront Street from Atlantic Boulevard to Olive Avenue.\nRecommended Action: City Council approve the distribution of a Notice Inviting Bids\nto qualified contractors for the Front Street Water Main Replacement and Zone Change -\nPhase 1 with bids due no later than 10:30 a.m. on May 25, 2023 and opened at 11:00 a.m.\nthat same day.
