AWARD CONTRACT: MAIN STREET SEWER MAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT\nBETWEEN GRANADA AVENUE AND EL MOLINO STREET – F2M23-26, N2M23-24,\nC2M23-26, M2M23-57\nOn February 27, 2023, the City Council approved the distribution of a Notice Inviting Bids\nfor the Main Street Sewer Main Replacement Between Granada Avenue and El Molino\nStreet. On March 30, 2023, bids were opened by the City Clerk. Ten bids were received,\nwhich ranged from base bid amounts of $673,020 to $1,622,700. GRBCON Inc. submitted\nthe lowest qualified bid at $673,020.00. In addition to base bid amount, GRBCON Inc.\nsubmitted $37,859.00 under the Alternative Bid Schedule. Staff reviewed the bid\nsubmitted by GRBCON Inc. and found it to be in full compliance and conformance with\nthe project specifications.\n5\n4-24-23\nRecommended Action: City Council award a contract, subject to final language\napproval by the City Manager and City Attorney, by and between the City of Alhambra and\nGRBCON Inc., for the Main Street Sewer Replacement Project between Granada Avenue\nand El Molino Street in an amount not to exceed $710,879.00; find the Main Street Sewer\nReplacement Project between Granada Avenue and El Molino Street categorically exempt\nfrom California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section\n15301 (b); and, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize Council’s action.\n(M2M23-58)
