9.b.\nCONSIDERATION\nOF\nRESOLUTION\nNO.\n26-033,\nAPPROVING\nAGREEMENT WITH DAWSON & ASSOCIATES FOR CONSULTING\nSERVICES FOR INTERGOVERNMENTAL COORDINATION (IGC)\nA consultant is needed to provide professional intergovernmental\ncoordination services to effectively communicate municipal opportunities\nand strengthen partnerships with Federal and Los Angeles County\nrepresentatives affiliated with Whittier Narrows in the County of Los\nAngeles. Dawson & Associates is familiar with such coordination through\nthe recent Magellan Industrial/Recreation project at 825 Lexington Gallatin\nRoad. The firm possesses a unique history and technical expertise\nregarding South El Monte's specific needs. Staff recommends entering into\na professional services agreement to ensure the City follows appropriate\nstrategy, procedures, and communication with Federal agencies to\nunderstand land use opportunities within Whittier Narrows.\nRECOMMENDED ACTION: Staff recommends City Council adopt\nResolution No. 26-033, approving a professional services agreement with\nDawson & Associates for Intergovernmental Coordination Services in an\namount not to exceed $117,000 for an initial term of one hundred and eighty\n(180) days.\nGENERAL BUSINESS (CONTINUED)
