A.\nPublic Hearing to Receive Comments on the Program Year 2026-2027\nAction Plan for the Community Development Block Grant and Home\nInvestment Partnerships Programs The U.S. Department of Housing and\nUrban Development (HUD) provides Community Development Block Grant\n(CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) funds to the City of\nRosemead for the purpose of developing viable urban communities by\nproviding decent housing, suitable living environments, and by expanding\neconomic opportunities, specifically for low- and moderate-income\npeople. For Program Year (PY) 2026-2027, the City will receive\napproximately $542,776 in CDBG funds and $230,551.14 in HOME funds\nfrom HUD. As a recipient of CDBG funds, the City has also previously\nreceived Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus (CDBG- CV)\nfunds with a current balance of approximately $200,000. The purpose of\nthis public hearing is to inform residents about the CDBG and HOME\nprograms and to solicit public input regarding community needs and\npriorities prior to final funding decisions.\nRecommendation: That the City Council conduct a public hearing to receive\ncitizen input on community needs and priorities prior to final CDBG and HOME\nfunding decisions for the PY 2026-2027 Action Plan.\nStaff Report\nPresentation
