B.\nDiscussion to Consider the City in Becoming a Member of the\nIndependent Cities Association Council Member Steven Ly would like to\ndiscuss the possibility of the City of Rosemead becoming a member of\nthe Independent Cities Association, a regional organization of nearly 40\nSouthern California cities that addresses shared issues such as public\nsafety, education, infrastructure, and intergovernmental collaboration.\nIndependent Cities Association hosts two annual seminars that bring\ntogether city council members, officials, and business partners to\ncollaborate, network, and exchange knowledge: a Winter Seminar in\nFebruary focused on public safety, and a Summer Seminar in July that\nexplores current and emerging issues.\nRecommendation: That the City Council discuss and provide direction to staff.\nStaff Report
