B. DUMPLING AND BEER FESTIVAL: 2025 RECAP AND HIRING AN EVENT\nOPERATOR\nThe Dumpling and Beer Festival (Festival) was introduced in 2015 to showcase\nthe culinary aspect of the City and attract tourism to the Mission District. Over\nthe years, the festival has grown into a community event that celebrates\ndiversity and culture through popular food and drink. Each year the event\nattracts around 5,000-7,000 visitors and this number continues to grow. This\nreport provides a summary of the planning efforts that contribute to the\nfestival’s yearly success, a recap of the 10th Anniversary, and an opportunity to\ndiscuss the possibility of hiring an event operator.\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: Not a Project as\ndefined in Section 15378 of the State CEQA Guidelines.\nRecommended Action:\nStaff recommends that the City Council:\n1. Receive the report on the 2025 recap; and\n2. Review and approve the Professional Services Agreement with MPD Events\nand authorize the City Manager to execute the Agreement.
