16. INTRODUCTION OF ORDINANCE NO. 1170 - AMENDING TITLE III OF THE SANTA FE SPRINGS\nMUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING A NEW CHAPTER 42 ENTITLED “POLICE DEPARTMENT AND\nPOST STANDARDS AND TRAINING” CODIFYING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE SANTA FE\nSPRINGS POLICE DEPARTMENT AND ACCEPTANCE OF THE STATUTORY\nREQUIREMENTS RELATING TO THE RECRUITMENT AND TRAINING STANDARDS OF LAW\nENFORCEMENT OFFICERS ESTABLISHED BY THE COMMISSION ON PEACE OFFICERS\nSTANDARDS AND TRAINING (CITY ATTORNEY)\nIt is recommended that the City Council:\n1. Approve for first reading Ordinance No. 1170 of the City of Santa Fe Springs, California (“City”)\ncodifying the establishment of the Santa Fe Springs Police Department and acceptance of the\nstatutory requirement and training standards of law enforcement officers;\n2. Take such additional, related action that may be desirable.\nAPPOINTMENTS TO BOARDS, COMMITTEES, AND COMMISSIONS\nCOUNCIL COMMENTS/AB1234 COUNCIL CONFERENCE REPORTING\nCouncilmember announcements; requests for future agenda items; conference/meeting reports.\nMembers of the City Council will provide a brief report on meetings attended at the expense of the local\nagency as required by Government Code Section 53232.3(d).
