PROCESS TO FILL A CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION VACANCY\nSummary:\nThe City Council will consider a process to fill one vacancy on the Civil Service\nCommission for an unexpired term through May 31, 2025.\nRecommendations:\n1. Approve the proposed recruitment schedule and select a date to conduct\ncommissioner candidate interviews and appointment. The suggested date is\nthe regular City Council meeting of May 23, 2023. If the number of\ncommission applicants is greater than ten, City Council may wish to call a\nspecial meeting for June 1 or June 6, 2023.\n2. As an alternative, provide staff direction to utilize the recent list of Civil\nService applicants from the recruitment that concluded April 14, 2023 and\ninvite applicants to interview at the May 23, 2023 City Council meeting.
