8. LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE AT CITY TRANSIT FACILITIES CONTRACT -\nAward a contract to American Heritage Landscape, LP, to provide recurring landscape\nmaintenance services for City transit facilities.\nRECOMMENDED ACTION:\nCity Council:\n1. Award a two-year contract to American Heritage Landscape, LP to provide landscape\nmaintenance services for all City of Santa Clarita (City) Transit and Metrolink\nfacilities for an annual base amount of $69,812, and authorize a 20 percent\ncontingency in the annual amount of $13,962, for a total two-year contract not to\nexceed $167,548.\n2. Find that the award of contract is exempt from the California Environmental Quality\nAct (CEQA) pursuant to Article 19 – Categorical Exemptions, Section 15301,\nExisting Facilities, (h) Maintenance of Existing Landscaping.\n3. Authorize the City Manager or designee to execute up to three (3) additional, one-\nyear renewal options beginning in year three, not to exceed the annual contract\namount, plus an adjustment in compensation consistent with the appropriate\nConsumer Price Index, upon request of the contractor, and contingent upon the\nappropriation of funds by the City Council in the annual budget for such fiscal year.\n4. Authorize the City Manager or designee to execute all contracts and associated\ndocuments, subject to City Attorney approval.
