H. ASSISTANCE GUIDELINES FOR YOUTH AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAMSAt the June 2, 2026 City Council meeting, staff presented the proposed FiscalYear 2026-27 fee schedule. The updates included a new fee for the After Schooland Middle School Sports programs, programs that have historically beenoffered free of charge. The City Council directed staff to develop an assistanceprogram that reduces the fees for families where the full fee might present abarrier to participation. Therefore, staff have developed a program that reducesfees for extremely low-income and low-income families by 50%, as defined inthe Los Angeles County Development Authority income levels.California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: Not a Project asdefined in Section 15378 of the State CEQA Guidelines.Recommended Action:Staff recommends that the City Council approve the tuition assistance programas outlined in the staff report, which would reduce fees paid for the After Schooland Middle School sports programs by 50%, for eligible families based onhousehold income.
