8. Continued Discussion Regarding El Segundo Becoming a Charter City;\nthe Proposal of a City Charter and the Proposed Charter’s Content\nRecommendation -\n1. Continue discussion on the proposed City Charter (“Charter”).\n2. Provide direction on any changes to the proposed Charter.\n3. Direct staff to include the proposed Charter on an upcoming agenda for\nconsideration to submit the measure to the voters at the November 2026\nelection (per state law, the City Council must wait at least 21 days from\nthe second public hearing).\n4. Designate, if desirable, one or two council members to attend a town hall\nmeeting to be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., to\nprovide for additional public outreach regarding the potential of the City\nbecoming a Charter City.\n5. Alternatively, discuss and take other action related to this item.
