D. ACCEPTANCE OF $500,000 GRANT FROM LOS ANGELES COUNTY REGIONAL PARK AND OPEN SPACE DISTRICT AND ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 26-33 AMENDING FISCAL YEAR 2026-27 BUDGET TO INCREASE APPROPRIATIONS IN THE AMOUNT OF $500,000 Staff submitted a grant application for the 2025 Planning and Design Competitive Grant Program to the Los Angeles County Regional Park and Open Space District (RPOSD) in October 2025 for the Renovation, Rehabilitation, Expansion and Facility Improvement of Smith Park. The City was notified by RPOSD that it was selected as an awardee in the amount of $500,000, the maximum amount for this category. California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: Not a Project as defined in Section 15378 of the State CEQA Guidelines. Recommended Action: Staff recommends that the City Council: 1. Accept the planning and design grant from the Los Angeles County Regional Park and Open Space District (RPOSD); 2. Authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement with RPOSD; 3. Approve the release of a request for proposals for qualified contractors to develop the construction documents; and 4. Adopt Resolution No. 26-33 authorizing the budget adjustment of $500,000.
