(11) 26-0347 PLANNING AND LAND USE MANAGEMENT (PLUM) COMMITTEE REPORT relative to preparing a proposed ordinance, to amend Los Angeles Municipal Code (LAMC) Section 98.0603 (Expiration of Plan Check) to extend the Plan Check expiration beyond the 18 month-time period that is currently allowed. Recommendations for Council action, pursuant to Motion (Blumenfield – Lee): 1. INSTRUCT the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety (LADBS), in consultation with the City Attorney, to prepare and present a proposed ordinance, to amend LAMC Section 98.0603 (Expiration of Plan Check) to extend the Plan Check expiration beyond the 18 month- time period that is currently allowed, and thereby allow project applicants more time to secure a permit. 2. INSTRUCT the LADBS to revise existing policy to extend Plan Check to allow more time for project applicants to complete the Plan Check process and obtain permits while complying with the building codes in effect at the time of original submittal. Financial Policies Statement: Neither the City Administrative Officer nor the Chief Legislative Analyst has completed a financial analysis of this report.
