AN ORDINANCE ADDING CHAPTER 5.68 TO THE BUENA PARK MUNICIPAL CODE\nPERTAINING TO GROUP HOME OPERATING PERMITS AND REQUIREMENTS,\nAND REFERRING A ZONING CODE AMENDMENT TO THE BUENA PARK\nPLANNING COMMISSION\nPresented by Christopher G. Cardinale, City Attorney\nPurpose: Enact local regulations that are consistent with federal and state law and strike\na balance between the interests of residents desiring to preserve the residential\ncharacter of their neighborhoods, and the need to provide housing accommodations to\ndisabled individuals; including those in recovery from chemical addiction to reside in\nnormalized residential environments that promote effective recovery. There is no direct\nbudget impact associated with this item.\nRecommended Action: 1) Adopt an Ordinance of the Buena Park City Council Adding\nChapter 5.68, Group Homes, to the Buena Park Municipal Code; and, 2) Request that\nthe Buena Park Planning Commission review a minor amendment to the Buena Park\nZoning Code to make reference to the new Chapter 5.68.
