1. CONSIDERATION OF APPROVAL OF A SPECIAL EVENT PERMIT APPLICATION AND\nWAIVER OF FEES BY AZUSA HIGH SCHOOL TO ALLOW FOR A PUBLIC FIREWORKS\nDISPLAY IN CONJUNCTION WITH A COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY ON JUNE 6, 2023.\nRECOMMENDED ACTION:\n1) Consider and approve Azusa High School’s request for a Special Event Permit to allow for a one-time\nfirework display in conjunction with commencement activities on June 6, 2023;\n2) Determine that the request is exempt from CEQA pursuant to Guidelines Section 15061(b)(3), also\nknown as the “general rule” exemption,\n3) Authorize the City Manager to execute the Special Event Permit Agreement with Azusa High School in\na form acceptable to the City Attorney, on behalf of the City; and\n4) Make a finding that the community at large will receive a public benefit from the expenditure of funds\nfor the recommended items and waive associated costs.\nTotal Cost: $5,750 (Waived Fees) Is the Cost of this item budgeted?
