A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MONTEREY PARK\nCONDEMNING THE MILITARY JUNTA OF MYANMAR (BURMA) FOR THE OPPRESSION\nOF CIVILIANS WITH EXCESSIVE VIOLENCE AND STANDING FIRMLY WITH THE PEOPLE\nOF BURMA IN THEIR PURSUIT FOR A FAIR, JUST, AND SUSTAINABLE DEMOCRATIC\nSOVEREIGN GOVERNMENT (REQUESTED BY MAYOR PRO TEM WONG)\nIt is recommended that the City Council consider:\n(1) Adopting a resolution condemning the military junta of Myanmar (Burma) for the\noppression of civilians with excessive violence and standing firmly with the people of\nBurma in their pursuit for a fair, just, and sustainable democratic sovereign government;\nand\n(2) Taking such additional, related, action that may be desirable.
