9.1 QUALIFICATION OF REFERENDUM PETITION CHALLENGING ORDINANCE NO.\n1756 ESTABLISHING A MINIMUM WAGE OF $25.00 PER HOUR FOR QUALIFYING\nHEALTHCARE WORKERS IN THE CITY OF LYNWOOD\nComments:\nThe City Council must take some action and render a decision as the referendum petition\nhas qualified and Ordinance No. 1756 will remain suspended per Elections Code § 9214.\n(CC)\nRecommendation:\nStaff recommends that the City Council consider the following:\n1. Receive, file and accept the Certificate of Sufficiency of the Referendum Petition\nSignatures as valid in all respect\n2. Reconsider Ordinance No. 1756 and select one of the following options:\na. Direct Staff to prepare a Resolution to submit Ordinance No. 1756 to the Lynwood\nVoters at the next Regular Municipal Election on November 5, 2024 or\nb. Special Election on March 5, 2024 or\nc. Direct Staff to prepare an Ordinance to repeal Ordinance No. 1756\nd. Direct Staff to agendize the consideration of Ordinance No. 1756 at a future date.
