4. CONTRACT AWARD TO TRANE US, INC., FOR REPLACEMENT OF CHILLER EQUIPMENT IN AN AMOUNT\nNOT-TO-EXCEED $155,705 (Public Works Dept.)\nRecommendation: It is recommended that the City Council:\n(1) Find that this action is categorically exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to\nState CEQA Guidelines in accordance with Title 14, Chapter 3, Article 19, Class 1, Section 15301, Existing\nFacilities, which exempts minor alteration of existing public facilities where no expansion of existing use will take\nplace;\n(2) Authorize contract award to Trane US, Inc., (Trane) for the replacement of Trane chiller equipment to replace\nthe existing system at the Police Department for an amount not-to-exceed $155,705 (including $14,155 contingency);\nand\n(3) Neither Competitive Bidding and Competitive Selection are required pursuant to City Charter Section 1002(H),\ncontracts with other governmental entities or their contractors for labor, material, supplies, or services, and\nPasadena Municipal Code (PMC), Section 4.08.049(B), contracts for which the City’s best interests are served.\nTPA
