10. RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS, AND APPROVAL OF\nCONTRACT WITH URBAN HABITAT FOR THE WHITAKER SCHOOL PARK\nPROJECT\nPresented by Annie Singhal, Assistant Engineer\nPurpose: Approve plans, specifications, and authorize the Public Works Department to\nhire a contractor for the Whitaker School Park Project. Associated construction costs in\nthe amount of $5,347,817.84 will be funded from a combination of Park-in-Lieu funds,\nProp. 68 Per Capital Program grant funds, and General Fund monies\n(Account No. 32-9806- 290150). A budget transfer in the amount of $1,000,000 from the\nundesignated General Fund balance is required to fund the project.\nRecommended Action: 1) Adopt a resolution approving plans and specifications for the\nWhitaker School Park Project; 2) Award a contract to Urban Habitat in the amount of\n$4,838,097.84; 3) Authorize contingency funds in the amount of $400,000 in the same\npurchase order; 4) Authorize construction engineering funds in the amount of $100,000;\n5) Authorize a purchase order for The Solis Group in the amount of $9,720 for the\nadministration of the Community Workforce Agreement (CWA); 6) Authorize a budget\ntransfer in the amount of $1,000,000 from the undesignated General Fund balance;\n7) Authorize the City Manager and City Attorney to make any non-monetary changes to\nthe contract; and, 7) Authorize the City Manager and the City Clerk to execute the\ncontract.\nPUBLIC HEARING (11 – 12)
