CPC-2023-135-CU-DRB-SPP-MSP Council District: 5 – Yaroslavsky\nCEQA: ENV-2023-136-CE Last Day to Act: 07-10-23\nPlan Area: Bel Air – Beverly Crest\nPUBLIC HEARING – Completed March 15, 2023\nPROJECT SITE: 2785, 2845, 2791 North Casiano Road\n(commonly associated with 15600 West Mulholland Drive)\nPROPOSED PROJECT:\nReuse of an existing school facility with minor alterations and additions. The school enrollment will be a\nmaximum of 1,200 students, with 700 living on campus and 200 to 500 living off-campus. The Project\nincludes the addition of 128 square feet for two security booths and 199 square feet for a new restroom\nand shower building, and the reconfiguring of existing classroom square footage to increase classroom\ncount from 25 to 35 classrooms. The Project also includes an improved drop-off/pick-up zone, new\nlandscaped area, swimming pool, sand volleyball court, and minor interior renovations to existing buildings.\n287 parking spaces will be provided. The site is in the Inner and Outer Corridors of the specific plan and is\nupslope and visible from Mulholland Drive. The Project proposes 800 cubic yards of cut, 400 cubic yards\nof fill, zero cubic yards of import, and 400 cubic yards of export grading. The Project does not propose the\nremoval of protected or non-protected significant trees.\nREQUESTED ACTIONS:\n1. Pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15314, Class 14 (Minor Additions to Schools) and that there is\nnot substantial evidence demonstrating that any exceptions contained in Section 15300.2 of the State\nCEQA Guidelines regarding location, cumulative impacts, significant effects or unusual circumstances,\nscenic highways, hazardous waste sites or historic resources applies;\n2. Pursuant to Section 12.24 U.24 of the Los Angeles Municipal Code (LAMC), a Conditional Use to\npermit the operation of a private school in the RE Zone at an existing school site with minor alterations\nand additions, including the reconfiguring of existing classroom square footage to increase classroom\ncount from 25 to 35 classrooms;\n3. Pursuant to LAMC Section 12.21 A.4(y), an approved Parking Reduction for relief from LAMC Section\n12.21 A.4 with transportation alternatives; and\n4.
