Board of Airport Commissioners

January 19, 2023 Resolution #5

Agenda Item 5

RESOLUTION NO.      - License Agreement with Community Partners, a California 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, on behalf of the project, SafeParkingLA:  With expiration date of June 30, 2023, to utilize a small, gated area of Los Angeles International Airport property located on the eastern portion of 5455 West 111th Street, near the corner of La Cienega Boulevard and 111th Street, for the purpose of providing overnight parking in connection with the City of Los Angeles Safe Parking Program, at no cost and no liability to Los Angeles World Airports \nPURPOSE: The request is for approval of the license agreement between Los Angeles World Airports and Community Partners, a California 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, on behalf of its project, SafeParkingLA. The license agreement provides temporary right-of-entry for a small (2.79 acres), gated area on the eastern portion of the Los Angeles International Airport property, located at 5455 West 111th Street, near the corner of La Cienega Boulevard and 111th Street, for the purposes of providing overnight parking for up to 50 automobiles (no RVs), in connection with the City of Los Angeles Safe Parking Program. Los Angeles World Airports has determined that community use of the parking area will not significantly impact the aeronautical use of the airport and will appreciably enhance community relations in support of the airport. The Federal Aviation Administration has not objected to the license agreement attached. \nRECOMMENDATIONS: Adoption of the Report requesting that the Board of Airport Commissioners determine that this action is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Public Resources Code Section 21080(b)(4) and 14 California Code of Regulations Section 15269; approve the License Agreement with Community Partners; and authorize the Chief Executive Officer, or designee to execute said License Agreement (attached to the staff report) after approval as to form by the City Attorney.
