b) REPORT APPROVAL OF RESOLUTIONS TO JOIN CALIFORNIA JOINT\n23-0335 POWERS INSURANCE AUTHORITY (CJPIA) FOR EXCESS\nGENERAL LIABILITY COVERAGE, EXCESS WORKERS’\nCOMPENSATION COVERAGE,\nAND PROPERTY COVERAGE\n(Human Resources Manager Vanessa Godinez)\nRecommendation: Staff recommends City Council:\n1. Adopt a Resolution Approving Execution of the Joint Powers Agreement Creating the\nCalifornia Joint Powers Insurance Authority (Attachment 1);\n2. Adopt a Resolution to Authorize and Approve Pooling of Self-Insurance through the\nExcess Liability Protection Program of the California Joint Powers Insurance Authority\n(Attachment 2);\n3. Adopt a Resolution to Authorize and Approve Pooling of Self-Insurance through the\nExcess Workers' Compensation Program of the California Joint Powers Insurance\nAuthority (Attachment 3);\n4. Adopt a Resolution Establishing a Policy that Delegates Tort Liability Claims Handling\nResponsibilities to the California Joint Powers Insurance Authority Authorized by\nGovernment Code Section 910, et seq. (Attachment 4);\n5. Approve the Third-Party Claims Administration Agreement with Carl Warren and\nCompany for the Liability Self Insurance Program (Attachment 5);\n6. Approve the Third-Party Claims Administration Agreement with Athens Administrators\nfor the Workers' Compensation Program (Attachment 6);\n7. Approve the Contract for Professional Services Agreement with AdminSure Inc. for\nThird-Party Administrative Services (Attachment 7);\n8. Authorize the Mayor and City Manager to execute and the City Clerk to attest to the\nattached agreements subject to approval by the City Attorney; and\n9. Designate a Primary Voting Delegate and an Alternate Voting Delegate to the CJPIA\nBoard of Directors (Attachment 8).
