8. ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT FROM THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY REGIONAL PARK\nAND OPEN SPACE DISTRICT UNDER MEASURE A ANNUAL ALLOCATION GRANT\nPROGRAM – F2M21-18, M2M23-2\nOn November 8, 2021, the City Council adopted a resolution (R2M21-46) that enabled\nstaff to apply for annual allocation grant funding from the Los Angeles County Regional\nPark and Open Space District (RPOSD) under Measure A. Staff submitted an application\nfor $600,000 to renovate and upgrade the restroom building at Alhambra Park. On\nNovember 17, 2022, staff received notification that the City was awarded a grant for the\nfull amount of the project cost. As a condition of the grant funding, a deed restriction is\nrequired by RPOSD to ensure that the property will remain as a public resource and be\nused for the purpose consistent with Measure A. Staff will prepare the required\ndocumentation upon receipt from RPOSD and submit to the City Council for authorization\nat a future meeting.\nRecommended Action: City Council accept a grant in the amount of $600,000 from\nthe Los Angeles County Regional Park and Open Space District (RPOSD) under the\nMeasure A Annual Allocation Grant Program; appropriate revenue and expenditure funds;\nauthorize the City Manager, or designee, to execute all documents related to grant\nimplementation; and, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize Council’s\naction.
