RESOLUTION NO.      - Acceptance of Grant Funds and Execution of a Grant Agreement with the California Natural Resources Agency:  Covering Environmental Enhancement and Mitigation Program funds, for amount up to $500,000, for the Los Angeles International Airport Dunes Habitat Restoration Project, relative to environmental mitigation work for the removal of invasive plants and restoration of natural plant species to supplement previous restoration work in the protected coastal dunes wildlife preserve adjacent to Los Angeles International Airport and owned by Los Angeles World Airports \nPURPOSE: The requested actions are to secure up to $500,000 in state grant funds for direct reimbursement of environmental mitigation work for the removal of invasive plants and restoration of natural plant species to supplement previous restoration work in the protected coastal dunes wildlife preserve owned by Los Angeles World Airports and located adjacent to and west of the Los Angeles International Airport airfield. \nRECOMMENDATIONS: Adoption of the Report requesting that the Board of Airport Commissioners determine that this action is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Article II, Section 2.i and Article III, Class 1 (9) of the Los Angeles City CEQA Guidelines; approve and further adopt the Resolution (attached to the staff report) relative to a grant application to the California Natural Resources Agency for the Los Angeles International Airport Dunes Habitat Restoration Project; further approve acceptance of Environmental Enhancement and Mitigation Program grant funds up to $500,000, subject to a funding recommendation by said agency and funding approval by the California Transportation Commission; authorize the Chief Executive Officer, or designee, to execute a Grant Agreement with said agency relative to said acceptance and use of grant funds as a partial funding source for environmental mitigation work in the protected coastal dunes wildlife preserve, after approval as to form by the City Attorney; and further authorize the Chief Executive Officer, or designee, to execute any subsequent amendments to said Grant Agreement that may be required by the funding agency for Los Angeles World Airports to continue to accept said program funds, after approval as to form by the City Attorney.
