J. ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 23-38 APPROVING THE FISCAL YEAR 2023-24\nSENATE BILL 1 ROAD REPAIR AND ACCOUNTABILITY ACT PROJECT LIST\nSenate Bill 1, also known as the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017,\nprovides the City of San Gabriel with access to funds for basic road\nmaintenance, rehabilitation, and safety projects. In Fiscal Year 2023-24, the City\nwill receive an estimated $975,535. To qualify for funding under the Act, the\nCity must adopt a list of eligible street improvement projects. The Resolution\npresented for Council’s consideration would adopt the project list and\nauthorize the Public Works Director to file the required documents with the\nCalifornia Transportation Commission to receive the funding.\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: Not a Project as\ndefined in Section 15378 of the State CEQA Guidelines.\nRecommended Action:\nStaff recommends that the City Council adopt Resolution No. 23-38 and\nauthorize the Public Works Director to file the necessary documentation to\nsatisfy SB1 funding requirements and act as the authorized signatory for\nmatters related to this year’s funding.
