E. INTER-CON CONTRACT EXTENSION IN THE AMOUNT OF $137,932 FOR\nPARKING ENFORCEMENT SERVICES THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2023\nThe Professional Services Agreement with Inter-Con Security Systems Inc.\ncontract to provide parking enforcement services expires on June 30, 2023. Staff\nrecommends the extension of the contract for an additional six months, ending\nDecember 31, 2023, to engage further research into alternative parking-\nenforcement services. The cost for the six-month extension is $137,932. Parking\nenforcement services are currently budgeted in the amount of $276,000 for\nFiscal Year 2022-23. $350,000 was budgeted for parking enforcement services\nfor Fiscal Year 2023-24 due to forecasted cost escalations.\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: Not a Project as\ndefined in Section 15378 of the State CEQA Guidelines.\nRecommended Action:\nStaff recommends that the City Council authorize the City Manager to extend\nthe current contract with Inter-Con for an additional six months, ending on\nDecember 31, 2023. Staff will re-evaluate their services and/or seek other\nopportunities for services for the remainder of Fiscal Year 2023-24.
