7. RESOLUTION APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS, AND APPROVAL OF CONTRACT\nWITH GCI CONSTRUCTION, INC. FOR THE MALVERN AVENUE AND BEACH\nBOULEVARD WATER VAULT AND MAIN REHABILITATION PROJECT\nPurpose: Approve specifications and authorize the Public Works Department to hire a\ncontractor for the Malvern Avenue and Beach Boulevard Water Vault and Main\nRehabilitation Project. This project is funded by the Water Enterprise Fund through the\nPipeline Improvements Project budget (Account No. 52-9806-396825) and the\nPressure Reducing Vault Replacement budget (Account No. 52-9806-396852).\nRecommended Action: 1) Adopt a resolution approving the specifications for the\nMalvern Avenue and Beach Boulevard Water Vault and Main Rehabilitation Project;\n2) Award a contract to GCI Construction, Inc. in the amount of $111,000; 3) Authorize\ncontingency funds in the amount of $17,000 in the same purchase order; 4) Authorize\nthe City Manager and City Clerk to make any necessary, non-monetary changes to the\ncontract; 5) Authorize the City Manager and City Clerk to execute the contract. Fee\nProgram for the M2 Program; 6) Authorize the City Clerk to certify the Resolution\nadoption; and, 7) Authorize staff to submit the necessary documentation to the Orange\nCounty Transportation Authority (OCTA).
