CONSIDERATION AND APPROVAL OF RESOLUTION 23-68,\nAPPROVING AWARD OF CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT TO ALL\nAMERICAN ASPHALT FOR FISCAL YEAR (FY) 2022-23 RESIDENTIAL\nSTREET REHABILITATION PROJECT\nOn June 1, 2023, the Engineering Department solicited bids for the FY\n22/23 Residential Street Rehabilitation Project. The work asphalt roadway\nresurfacing (asphalt cold mill and overlay), asphalt pothole repairs,\nreconstruction of concrete curb ramps, sidewalks, curb and gutter at\nvarious locations and restoration of pavement markings and striping. The\nlowest responsive bid was submitted by All American Asphalt in the\namount of $922,222.\nRECOMMENDED ACTION: Staff recommends City Council:\n1. Adopt and approve the plans and specifications for the FY 22/23\nResidential Street Rehabilitation Project;\n2. Review the bids and find that All American Asphalt has submitted the\nlowest responsive bid;\n3. Adopt Resolution No. 23-68, awarding the FY 22/23 Residential\nStreet Rehabilitation Project contract to All American Asphalt in the\namount of $922,222:\n4. Approve a 15% contingency amount of $92,222.20 for a total project\nconstruction budget amount not to exceed $1,014,444; and\n5. Authorize City Manager or designee to negotiate and execute\ncontract.
