12. PURCHASE OF ONE FORD HYBRID POLICE PURSUIT VEHICLE AND APPROVAL\nOF A BUDGET AMENDMENT\nPurpose: Authorize the Public Works Department to purchase a Hybrid Utility Pursuit\nVehicle and upfitting services for the Police Department. Associated costs are in the\napproximate amount of $62,590 and will require a budget amendment from the AQMD\nFund and Vehicle Replacement Fund for this purpose.\nRecommended Action: 1) Authorize the purchase of one 2023 Ford Hybrid Utility Police\nPursuit Vehicle in the amount of $56,945 from National Auto Fleet Group; 2) Approve a\nbudget amendment in the amount of $56,945 from the South Coast Air Quality\nManagement District (AQMD) Fund for the cost of the hybrid vehicle; 3) Authorize\npurchase of upfitting service from Innovative Emergency Equipment in the amount of\n$5,645; 4) Approve a budget amendment in the amount of $5,645 from the Vehicle\nReplacement Fund for the cost of the upfitting service; and, 5) Determine that dispensing\nwith the competitive bidding pursuant to Municipal Code Section 3.28.080 (E) is in the\nbest interests of the City because it will result in the lowest purchase price for this\nvehicle.
