5. AGREEMENT WITH THE BUENA PARK SCHOOL DISTRICT (BPSD) FOR SCHOOL\nRESOURCE OFFICER (SRO) SERVICES FOR THE 2023-24 SCHOOL YEAR\nPurpose: Authorize the Police Department to renew an agreement to provide school\nresource officer (SRO) services at Buena Park Middle School and Beatty Middle School\nfor the 2023-2024 school year. Associated costs are in the amount of $254,400. The\nBPSD will reimburse the City for 75% of these costs, which is equivalent to 180\ninstructional days, in the amount of $190,800. This leaves $63,600 to be funded by the\nGeneral Fund (Account No. 11-5059-650402).\nRecommended Action: 1) Approve an agreement with the Buena Park School District\n(BPSD) to provide school resource officer services at Buena Park Middle School and\nBeatty Middle School for the 2023-2024 school year; 2) Authorize the City Manager and\nCity Attorney to make any necessary, non-monetary changes to the agreement; and\n3) Authorize the City Manager and City Clerk to execute the agreement, as approved by\nthe City Attorney.
