Agenda Item 6

6. COUNCIL APPOINTMENTS TO THE CONSULTANT SELECTION AND PROJECT\nMONITORING SUBCOMMITTEE FOR THE COMPREHENSIVE ENVIRONMENTAL\nSUSTAINABILITY PLAN – F2M22-64, M2M23-14\nOn February 9, 2023, proposals will be due from consultants for the development of\nAlhambra’s Comprehensive Environmental Sustainability Plan (RFP2M22-21). The\nSustainability Plan is intended to provide a long-term transformational roadmap for the\nCity to promote best practices to achieve sustainability; address the challenges associated\nwith environmental quality issues and community health; and enhance Alhambra as an\nenvironmentally healthy, economically strong, and socially fair community to live, work,\nplay and invest. Because of the extensive scope of work associated with this project, staff\nis recommending one and/or two Council Members provide support to the City’s consultant\nselection process and project monitoring. In this regard, Council involvement will provide\nvaluable opportunity to successfully guide the plan document toward completion and in\nalignment with the City’s strategic vision and report updates to the entire Council.\nRecommended Action: City Council appoint one and/or two Councilmembers to\nserve on the Consultant Selection and Project Monitoring Subcommittee for Alhambra’s\nComprehensive Environmental Sustainability Plan. (M2M23-14)\nCONSENT AGENDA (Item Nos. 7 – 17)\nAll items listed under the Consent Agenda are considered by the City Council to be routine and\nwill be enacted by one motion unless a citizen or Council member requests otherwise; in which\ncase, the item will be removed for separate consideration.
