14. RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF PEACE FOR THE PEOPLE OF THE REPUBLIC OF\nARTSAKH – F2M23-7, R2M23-5\nOn January 9, 2023, Councilmember Pérez, along with her Council colleagues, requested\na resolution in support of the people of the Republic of Artsakh, as a result of ongoing\nterritorial conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The Republic of Artsakh, an\nindependent state, which controls part of the Nagorno-Karabakh region, is an enclave\nwithin Azerbaijan; however, it is Armenian populated. Currently, the Lachin Corridor\nlinking the Nagorno-Karabakh to Armenia is being blocked by Azerbaijan activists. The\nroadblock is promoting aggression and violence and preventing residents from access to\ngoods, medicine, and other vital supplies. The protests are also further undermining\ninternational confidence and impeding the region’s peace process.\nRecommended Action: City Council adopt Resolution No. R2M23-5 entitled: A\nResolution of the City Council of the City of Alhambra in support of peace for the people\nof the Republic of Artsakh
