E. FISCAL YEAR 2023-2024 FIRE DEPARTMENT SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT\nOPEN PURCHASE ORDERS IN THE AMOUNTS OF $65,000 AND $60,000\nThe San Gabriel Fire Department, maintains a supply of expendable items and\ndurable equipment to fulfil its mission. Open purchase orders, renewed each\nFiscal Year are used to keep the Department stocked with personal protective\nequipment, paramedic, and firefighting supplies, delivered on an as-needed\nbasis. Vendors are reviewed regularly and selected through competitive bid,\npiggyback and cooperative purchasing agreements. Paramedic and Firefighting\nequipment and supplies are budgeted for Fiscal Year 2023-2024 as line items\nin the amount of $75,000 (Emergency Medical Service Supplies) and $70,000\n(Personal Protective Equipment).\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: Not a Project as\ndefined in Section 15378 of the State CEQA Guidelines.\nRecommended Action:\nStaff recommends that the City Council authorize the issuance of open\npurchase orders in the amount of $65,000 to Life Assist, Incorporated and in\nthe amount of $60,000 to Municipal Emergency Services. The purchases are to\nbe made pursuant to Title III, Section 34.35 of the San Gabriel Municipal Code,\npermitting the City to piggyback on a contract or cooperative purchasing\nagreement prepared by and processed through another local, state, or federal\ngovernment agency.
