30. AWARD CONTRACT: ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES FOR THE ALHAMBRA\nCOMMUNITY CENTER – F2M22-65, RFP2M23-20, C2M23-66, M2M23-132\nOn June 26, 2023, the City Council authorized the circulation of a Request for Proposals\n(RFP2M23-20) for Architectural Services for the Alhambra Community Center project. A\ntotal of thirteen proposals for this project were received from qualified consulting firms. On\nJuly 18, 2023, an evaluation panel consisting of the Project Manager and City staff\ninterviewed and rated the firms to determine how each met the essential requirements\noutlined in the RFP, including: Compliance with the RFP requirements; project\nunderstanding and approach; experience; level of effort, schedule, and cost-effectiveness\nto provide efficient services. After careful consideration, the evaluation panel determined\nKFA Architecture best meets the City’s criteria and overall needs.\nRecommended Action: City Council award a contract, subject to final language\napproval by the City Manager and the City Attorney, by and between the City of Alhambra\nand KFA Architecture, for Architectural Services for the Alhambra Community Center in\nan amount not to exceed $1,452,000; appropriate the funds in the fiscal year 2023-24\nbudget; and, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize the Council’s action.\n(M2M23-132)
