18. RESOLUTION: MILITARY EQUIPMENT USE POLICY RENEWAL AND ANNUAL\nMILITARY EQUIPMENT REPORT – F2M22-41, O2M22-4803, R2M23-41\nOn April 25, 2022, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. O2M22-4803 approving a\nMilitary Equipment Use Policy (“Policy”) pursuant to Assembly Bill 481 (“AB 481”). In\naccordance with the legislation and the Policy, a military equipment report must be\nsubmitted to the City Council annually for each type of military equipment approved within\none year of approval, and annually thereafter for as long as the military equipment is\navailable for use. Staff reviewed Department records and determined there were no\ncomplaints or concerns reported on the use of the equipment in 2022. An internal audit\nwas also conducted and determined there were no violations of the military equipment use\npolicy.\nRecommended Action: City Council review Ordinance No. O2M22-4803, the AB\n481 annual report and the updated Policy 706 and adopt Resolution No. R2M23-41\nentitled: A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Alhambra pursuant to Government\nCode Section 7071 renewing Ordinance No. O2M22-4803 implementing AB 481, and\napproving the Alhambra Police Department’s Military Equipment Use Policy 706 and\nfinding that the Annual Military Equipment Report complies with the standards of approval\nset forth in Government Code Section 7071(d)
