22. AWARD CONTRACT: PURCHASE OF CARBON MEDIA FOR THE GROUND WATER\nTREATMENT PLANT – F2M23-6B, N2M23-49, C2M23-63, M2M23-124\nOn May 5, 2023, the City Council authorized the distribution of Notice Inviting Bids for the\npurchase of carbon filter media for the Ground Water Treatment Plant. On July 13, 2023,\none bid was received and opened by the City Clerk. The Calgon Carbon Corporation\nprovides carbon that is approved by the Department of Public Health to be used at the\nCity’s Ground Water Treatment Plant. Staff reviewed the bid received and it meets City’s\nspecifications.\nRecommended Action: City Council award a contract, subject to final language\napproval by the City Manager and City Attorney, by and between the City of Alhambra and\nthe Calgon Carbon Corporation for the purchase and installation of carbon filter media at\nthe Ground Water Treatment Plant in an amount not to exceed $175,000.00 for a three-\nyear term; and, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize Council’s action.\n(M2M23-124)
