9. AWARD CONTRACT: WELL NO. 12 PUMP REPLACEMENT – F2M23-57, C2M23-56,\nM2M23-115\nWell No. 12 is a critical producer of potable water for the City. The well produces\napproximately 500 gallons per minute; production that is vital to maintaining an adequate\nwater supply for the City. In December of 2022, Well No.12 experienced a shaft issue that\nrequired the pump to be pulled out of the ground. Staff solicited bids from qualified\nvendors, with only two responding. Tri County Pump was the low bid to pull and inspect\nthe pump. The pump that was pulled is 14 years old; upon inspection it was determined\nthe pump, shaft, and column piping need to be replaced.\n6\n7-24-23\nRecommended Action: City Council award a contract, subject to final language\napproval by the City Manager and City Attorney, to Tri County Pump for the Well No. 12\nPump Replacement in an amount not to exceed $103,663.80; direct the Finance Director\nto carry over the remaining $142,282.00 balance of account 401.80.8884.90837 from\nFiscal Year 2022-2023 to the 2023-2024 Fiscal Year Budget; and, direct staff to undertake\nthe steps necessary to finalize Council’s action.
