8. AUTHORIZE RFP: PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING DESIGN SERVICES FOR THE\nGREEN STREET DEMONSTRATION STORMWATER CAPTURE PROJECT ON MAIN\nSTREET – F2M23-56, RFP2M23-21\nThe proposed Green Street Demonstration Stormwater Capture Project is identified as a\npriority concept in the City’s Stormwater Master Plan. The Project is a first of its kind within\nthe City of Alhambra and will provide multiple benefits to the neighborhood and the\nsurrounding environment while also reducing stormwater runoff volumes and pollutant\nloads to receiving waters. The Project will also beautify Main Street; comply with water\nquality regulations; enhance open space, include California native drought tolerant\nplantings and habitat; and demonstrate to the public the benefits of green infrastructure.\nRecommended Action: City Council authorize the distribution of a Request for\nProposals to qualified firms for Professional Engineering Design Services for the Green\nStreet Demonstration Stormwater Capture Project on Main Street; and, direct staff to\nundertake the steps necessary to finalize Council’s action.
