ACCEPTANCE OF U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN\nDEVELOPMENT (HUD) COMMUNITY PROJECT FUNDING GRANT FOR THE\nCIVIC CENTER PARKING LOT IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (90.20003)\nSummary:\nThe Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Office of Economic\nDevelopment, Congressional Grants Division has made available grants for the\nEconomic Development Initiative for the purposes of Community Project\nFunding in the Consolidated Appropriations Act, effective March 15, 2022. The\ngrant will be used for the construction of improvements to the parking lot at the\nCivic Center north of Hill Street (Project). Adoption of this resolution provides the\nCity’s acceptance of the grant funds and authorizes the City Manager to execute\nthe grant agreement and all necessary documents to receive and expend\nawarded grant funds on the Project.\nRecommendations:\n1. Adopt a resolution, entitled:\nA RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SIGNAL HILL,\nCALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING GRANT FUNDS FROM THE HOUSING AND\nURBAN DEVELOPMENT OFFICE OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FOR\nTHE CIVIC CENTER PARKING LOT IMPROVEMENT PROJECT\n2. Authorize the City Manager to execute and administer the grant agreement\nand all necessary documents to receive and expend awarded grant funds.
