6. ANNUAL REPORT OF MILITARY EQUIPMENT USE BY THE BUENA PARK POLICE\nDEPARTMENT PER CALIFORNIA ASSEMBLY BILL 481\nPresented by Ryan Dieringer, Police Lieutenant\nPurpose: In accordance with AB 481 and Policy 409, a military equipment report must be\nsubmitted to the City Council annually for each type of military equipment approved\nwithin one year of authorization, and annually thereafter, for as long as the military\nequipment is available for use. In compliance with AB 481, outlined below is the 2022\nAnnual Military Equipment Report. The annual report is attached (Attachment 2), as well\nas a proposed updated Policy 409 (Attachment 3). Associated cost for the purchase of\nthe projected listed equipment is $7,676 and is included in the adopted FY 2023-24\nbudget.\nRecommended Action: 1) Receive and file the Buena Park Police Department’s 2022-\n2023 Annual Military Equipment Report, as required by California Assembly Bill 481;\nand, 2) Approve budgeted purchases of listed military equipment included in the adopted\nFY 2023-24 budget.\n
